SOLAS maritime regulations will be replaced by MED 5.20 as of October 3, 2022.

Motorola Solutions will bring DP4401Ex and DP4801Ex radios in line with the new standard as early as the end of June 2021-these models will carry the new Wheelmark symbol attesting to compliance with the new standard. Important: Radios sold and installed before October 1, 2022 are not affected by the new standard, and those currently on board EU-registered or EU-flagged ships will not necessarily have to be replaced

• DP4000 Ex Series will be certified by the end of Q2 2021
• New EU Type Examination certificate
• MED 5.20 Wheelmark will be placed on the back of ATEX radios
