TRBOnet and SmartPTT exploit and extend the capabilities of the DMR digital standard and IP protocol found in Motorola MOTOTRBO™ radio stations. The main component of the system is the radio server, i.e., the software installed in the computer that is connected to the Motorola MOTOTRBO™ fixed digital radio station and is, therefore, able to ensure connection with users via a single radio channel: this means that the number of users connected to the server is potentially unlimited. Thanks to the client-server architecture that can directly connect several MOTOTRBO radio servers and repeaters to each other, equipment communicates with each other without the need for additional equipment, such as master radios. SmartPTT and TRBOnet support MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus, Linked Capacity Plus and Connect Plus, Single MOTOTRBO IPSC digital repeaters.
